Dr Cole will present Urban Development in a Carbon Challenged World. He will discuss the twin imperatives of reducing our carbon footprint while facing up to the end of cheap oil will be the defining challenge globally over the next two decades.

Dr Cole is a leading strategic thinker and advisor in sustainable development. An early proponent of triple-bottom-line thinking in government and industry, since the mid 1980s he has been involved in public policy, industry development, environment management and community empowerment .

  • Australian Engineering Week 4-10 August 2008

    National Engineering Week is an awareness campaign that promotes engineers and their profession. The purpose of the week is to promote the benefits that engineering brings to the Australian way of life.

    National Engineering Week 2008 will be held from 4-10 August 2008. In 2007, events were held across Queensland and included over 2100 engineers, students, teachers and community members.

    In 2008, events will include tours, information sessions, networking opportunities and a gala ball among other events. So be prepared for a week of insightful engineering activities for all.
